Welsh Premier League Cynghrair Bel Droid Cymru 2018 - 2019
Despite finishing as runners-up, Bangor City, one of the oldest and most successful of Welsh clubs, are absent this season having failed to have their WPL licence renewed due to a failure to meet required financial criteria. Their European licence was revoked at the same time so they could not take up the automatic place they had earned in the Europa League qualifiers. Immediately after the decision was announced in late April the club issued statements promising to fight the decision through the courts but after a few days wiser heads prevailed. Their focus now is to bounce back from the Huws Gray Cymru Alliance at the first attempt.
Prestatyn Town finished in a distant last place and were relegated to the Cymru Alliance after just one season in the top flight

The Black & Greens have retained their excellent first choice kit for a third season. Their equally attractive orange and white strip is replaced with a yellow and black outfit which was worn at home against Llandudno in the opening fixture.

Bala have signed up with Macron so all of their strips have been changed this season. The Wezen template is used for the WPL kits and as usual there are one-off strips for the Europa League. Blink and you'd miss these as Bala were eliminated in the preliminary round by Tre Fiori of San Marino, which must have hurt.

Barry finished in seventh place last season and have now switched from Joma to Macron. Their strips are in their usual colours, yellow and blue as first choice with green and white for the alternative.

The Canaries won the Cymru Alliance last season after a nine-year absence that saw them drop into the third tier of Welsh football with the prospect of extinction. Their distinctive strips are Errea's Jaro design.

Cardiff Met reached the final of the Europa League play-offs for the second time but were beaten by Cefn Druids. Only one goal separated the students from becoming the first university side ever to qualify for a senior European competition.

Carmarthen finished in eleventh place and would have been relegated had Bangor City not lost their WPL licence. The traditional old gold and black top has the club crest printed into the right hand side. The change strip features fine diagonal pin stripes as well as a striped sash in white.

Fifth place last May was the team's highest ever finish. Due to Bangor's demotion, Druids received a bye in the Europa League play-offs and beat Cardiff Met 1-0 in the final to earn a place in Europe for only the second time in their history. Unfortunately their adventure was a brief one as they were narrowly beaten by FK Trakai from Lithuania on aggregate. Last season's blue strip was worn in the away leg but was then replaced with a new Errea Jaro set for the WPL.

The Nomads finished third last season and won the Welsh Cup for the first time in their history, an achievement celebrated by supporters with an epic pub crawl round Deeside to show off the trophy. Their hopes for European glory came to naught, however, as they suffered a 5-1 aggregate defeat against Shaktyor Soligorsk of Belarus. Wrexham Lager sponsored their shirts in these two games. Their new shirts are Macron's "Titan" design.
The shirts were worn without sponsorship until 3 November when Gap Personnel appeared for the first time against Llanelli Town.

Llanelli Town are a phoenix club, formed in 2013 when the original Llanelli AFC was wound up in the High Court. They have played their way up the three tiers of the Welsh Football League and won the First Division title last season. They were initially refused a licence to play in the WPL but this decision was reversed on appeal.

TNS made it seven WPL titles in a row with 14 points to spare. A 5-0 defeat in Macedonia at the hands of KF Shkëndija in the Champions League was almost overturned in the return, which the Saints won 4-0. They then beat Lincoln Red Imps of Gibralter in the Europa League before they were knocked out by the Danish champions, FC Midtjylland. Their familiar hooped shirt is unchanged although the sponsor's logo has been altered to make it more visible. The change strip is new.
