Airdrie have retained both of their very smart strips from last season but with new sponsors.

Pinstripes have been added to the new first choice shirt but the rest of the strip is held over from last season as is the red change strip.

Alloa are unchanged this season but for their first few matches they played in unsponsored tops. Their new shirt sponsor made its debut in Alloa's first game in September against Dundee United in the Irn Bru Cup.

League Two champions Arbroath have updated their strips to the latest Pendle Rio design. This is a lot neater than the older templates with their wandering contrasting seams which were looking out of date.

Ayr United, who were relegated from the Championship last season, have fallen foul of the ludicrously anachronistic heraldic laws of Scotland (just as Airdrieonians did a few years ago). In June they were told by the Court of the Lord Lyon to ditch their traditional crest or face prosecution. The new version was chosen by supporters.

East Fife's first kit is an excellent recreation of the colours they adopted in 1922 and wore until the end of the 1950s. The combination of gold and black stripes and white shorts is particularly elegant. The third strip is held over from last season.

Promoted through the play-offs, Forfar have introduced a new change strip this season. They rotate their strips every two years so the all navy first kit will probably be changed next season.

Queen's Park are retaining their anniversary kit this season. The familiar hoops are also retained as the change strip but the dates 1867-2017 are embroidered in gold below the crest. That's likely to irritate supporters who bought a replica last season.

Raith were relegated from the Championship last season after defeat in the play-offs. The vertical stripe on the first shirt (more Puma fading spots) would have looked better in white I think. The alternative demonstrates how smart Puma kit can be when embellished with their trademark form stripe rather than silly gimmicks.

Stranraer have retained all three of their strips for the new season although there may be a change to the sponsor on the back of the shirts.
