Alloa were promoted via the play-offs and for the first time since they were relegated to League One in 2015-16, they have a new shirt to show off. To be honest there is not a lot that has changed aside from a gold panel to take the sponsor's logo and additional trim down the side of the shirt and shorts. The white se is also new while the navy kit is kept from last season.

Once again Ayr United have used the 1970s soft porn approach to launch their new strips, enlisting a topless model in body paint to drape herself over items of furniture. A small concession to the political correctness lobby has been made by using a topless male model for the "home" strip.
The shirt sponsor is owned by Calvin Ayre who is also behind their previous sponsor, Bodog. A keen exponent of crypto-currencies, Ayre persuaded to club to accept payment in Bitcoin, which will look well if this particular speculative bubble bursts before they can convert it into proper money.

Defeat by Livingston in the play-offs meant there would be no instant return to the top tier for the Terrors. Black shorts return after two seasons in all-tangerine while white, their first choice colour during the 60s, will be a popular alternative.

Dunfermline have reverted to broad stripes complemented by a change strip in light grey and white. The red shirt, which was worn twice in September, commemorates the bravery of a section of the Highland Light Infantry who were in action in France in September 1918. They became known as The Seven Heroes of Mouevres and were led by Cpl David Hunter VC who survived and became a lifelong supporter of Dunfermline. His grandson is currently a director of the club.

Puma are offering bespoke detailing to enhance their standard designs this season and Falkirk have taken advantage of this by adding a graphic to the front of their shirts that represents the Falkirk Steeple, a prominent landmark in the centre of the town that features on their crest.

Morton's supporters were invited to submit their own designs for the new "home" strip and then vote for their favourite in a ballot held in Smiths of Greenock rather than online, so no supporters from rival clubs could distort the result. The winner, designed by Gavin Mackintosh features familiar broad hoops and white sleeves but with a novel fading hexagon pattern on the blue bands. The red tartan strip, which was also designed by a supporter, Peter Fleming, is held over from last season.

Thistle lost their place in the Premiership to Livingston who beat them in the play-offs. They are wearing hoops once again which will please die-hard traditionalists but if I'm going to be picky (and regular visitors will know where this is going), I would prefer them to be a lot wider. And worn with white shorts. And 1950s haircuts.... The dark blue used for the change strip also has a long tradition behind it.

It's Queen's centenary next year so we have some special strips to celebrate. First choice is elegant in its simplicity and is inspired by the outfit worn when the club was formed. The claret and amber alternative is modeled on that of Dumfries FC while the light blue third strip is based on that of 5th King's Own Scottish Borderers. These two teams combined in 1919 to form the modern club.

The Staggies were relegated in last place having spent six seasons in the top tier. As usual Macron have produced bespoke outfits for the Highlanders with spectacular paint-effect splashes on the first choice shirt and a tartan motif on the alternative. After a couple of seasons wearing predominantly white change strips, the team have reverted to red.
