UEFA Euro 2008 Group B
Group B games were played in Vienna and Klagenfurt and was made up of four neighbouring countries from central Europe. Croatia secured top position after two games, the remaining qualifying place being decided in the final round of matches. Austria wore red shirts and white shorts rather than their usual white/black, a strip almost identical to that of their co-hosts. The change had occurred some four years previously and was in fact a reversion to the original colours worn by the national side in the days of the Austro-Hungarian Empire.
