NIFL Premiership 2015 - 2016
The NIFL Premiership is the top-level competition in Northern Ireland made up of semi-professional clubs.
In the match between Coleraine and Institute last season, both teams fielded ineligible players. As a result the NIFL cancelled the result and decided that both teams would record a 3-0 defeat, probably the only occasion that two teams have lost the same match. The finding made no difference to the final placings: Institute were relegated nine points adrift while Coleraine finished mid-table.

Ballymena
were placed seventh last season, exactly the same as in 2013-14. Their new first strip draws upon the outfit worn in 1980-81 when the team won the Irish and Ulster Cups. The change strip was to be unchanged but the club had a change of heart and decided to introduce an alternative that introduces "a splash of South American flair.". The club crest has also had a modest facelift.
