Despite being outplayed for much of the game, Nigeria took their chances and put themselves in a good position to advance to the next stage. The first goal came in the 29th minute, an unfortunate own-goal when Kim Do-yeon miscued a clearance and steered the ball past her own goalkeeper. Korea found the net in the second half but were offside. In the 75th minute Asisat Oshoala ran with the ball half the length of the field before brushing aside a defender, rounding the goalkeeper and slipping the ball into the goal from the narrowest of angles.

After a goal-less first half, Valerie Gauvin put France ahead with a snap shot immediately after the restart. In the 54th minute, with the goalkeeper stranded, the ball was played square across the face of the French goal but going harmlessly wide when Renard inexplicably steered it into her own net. A quarter of an hour later Ingrid Engren caught Marion Torrent on the thigh as she attempted a clearance and after a VAR review, the referee awarded a penalty which Le Sommer converted.

France laboured during a frustrating first-half in which neither team managed a shot on target. The home team looked sharper after the break but it was not until the final 10 minutes that the deadlock was broken by a double VAR decision. Ebere received a second yellow card for bringing down Asseyi in the area but Renard's spot kick came off the post. Another VAR check revealed Nigeria's 'keeper had moved off the line before the kick was taken so Renard had another go, and this time she scored.

Norway scored from the penalty spot once in each half and were below their best. Korea had spells in which they dominated and a late goal (Min-ji Yeo 78') put them back in the game. Yeo had another splendid chance in the final minutes but her header flashed narrowly past the post. Norway finished second in the group behind France.
