UEFA Euro 2000 Group C
Yugoslavia made their first appearance in the Euros since the international embargo, imposed during the civil wars, was lifted in 1997. The team was made up of Serbian and Montenegrin players whose homelands comprised the rump Federal Republic of Yugoslavia. The draw placed Slovenia in the same group, the first time the two nations had met on the football field since Slovenia seceded from Yugoslavia in 1991.
