UEFA Euro 2000
The 11th Euro finals were jointly hosted by Belgium and the Netherlands, the first time that the competition had been awarded to joint bidders.
The co-hosts qualified automatically and the remaining 14 finalists played through a qualifying competition of nine groups. The group winners and best runner-up qualified automatically while the remaining eight runners-up played off for the last four places.
