Belarus
New Zealand
A goal seconds before half-time was enough for Belarus to take the points.
Brazil
Egypt
In the first half, the favourites to win the men's gold medal, strolled to a 3-0 lead although there were plenty of signs that Egypt were not going to roll over. In the second period, Egypt threw themselves into the attack, pulling two back and in the end, Brazil were hanging on as the final whistle went.
Brazil
Belarus
Despite taking an early lead through the Brazilian born Renan Bardini Bressan, Belarus were not good enough to contain their adventurous and talented opponents. They held the advantage for just seven minutes before Alexandre Pato levelled the score and in the second-half, Neymar put Brazil into the lead with a magnificent 30-yard strike from a free-kick. In the third minute of injury time, Neymar set up Oscar who completed the scoring.
Egypt
New Zealand
After defeats in their opening games, both sides needed a win to keep their hopes of progressing alive. Chris Woods gave New Zealand the lead (17 minutes) but Egypt equalised with 40 minutes gone. In the second half, Egypt dominated but did not take their chances and should have won the match when Meteab sent the ball over the bar from all of 12 yards with the goalkeeper stranded.
Brazil
New Zealand
Despite being reduced to ten men, Brazil were more than good enough to see off New Zealand.
Egypt
Belarus
Egypt cruised past Belarus thanks to three goal that came within 15 minutes of each other in the second half. Voronkov scored a consolation goal for the east Europeans with three minutes to go.
