Spain
Japan
Japan pulled off a remarkable victory against a very experienced Spanish team who looked sluggish and ill-prepared. Yoki Otsu put Japan into the lead in the 34th minute and then shortly before half-time, Spain's was sent off. In the second half Spain's close-passing game deserted them and Japan had most of the opportunities, finishing as deserved winners.

Honduras
Morocco
In an open game, Abdelaziz Barrada scored in the first half to give Morocco the advantage at half-time. Jerry Bengston then scored twice in ten minutes to put the Central American side in the lead only for Labyad to level the scores three minutes later.
Spain
Honduras
Spain crashed out of Olympics in a shock defeat against a disciplined opponent. Jerry Bengston put Honduras ahead after just six minutes and it took the Spanish some time to recover. Indeed, they never played with the confident swagger associated with the senior side although they hit the woodwork three times and missed countless chances.
Japan
Morocco
A closely contested game was decided six minutes from the end thanks to a lobbed goal from Kensuke Nagai.
Japan
Honduras
THere were no goals in either of the last Group D games so Japan went through in first place along with Honduras.
Spain
Morocco
A torpid Spanish team ended their Olympic campaign without a goal to their name. Morocco, who could have progressed if they had won the game, played with more aggression at times but the result was a stalemate.
